Logan Henderson allowed one run in seven innings, Jake Bauers had four hits and two RBIs, and the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 to take three of four in the matchup of division leaders. Henderson (7-2) struck out six while giving up three hits and one walk in the longest outing of his two-year MLB career. Bauers put the Brewers in front 2-1 in the fifth inning with an RBI single and made it 3-1 in the seventh with a double. Max Muncy and Andy Pages hit homers for the Dodgers and Tarik Skubal (7-7) took the loss.

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts called out his struggling club after a 6-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday cost them a significant tiebreaker in the race for home-field advantage. The Dodgers lost three of four in the crucial series against the Brewers, who are three games ahead of Los Angeles in the chase for the National League’s best record and hold the head-to-head advantage for postseason seeding if the two teams end up deadlocked. Since July 1, the back-to-back World Series champions are 18-21.

The American League playoff race is heating up with seven teams vying for the final wild-card spot, all with records below .500. As of Sunday, the Baltimore Orioles would make the playoffs with a 61-63 record. They're closely followed by the Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays, Detroit Tigers, Minnesota Twins, Cleveland Guardians and Seattle Mariners. The Houston Astros also are in the mix with a slight advantage in the AL West. Many of these teams were sellers at the trade deadline, but at least one might still play in October. Only three teams in MLB history have made the playoffs with a losing record and all of them came during shortened seasons.
