POCATELLO – Highland's Cedar Washakie knocked down a corner 3-pointer that turned out to be the game-deciding basket in a 53-47 win over Pocatello on Saturday at The Pit.

A young Idaho State women’s basketball team did a lot of growing up Thursday night, going into Dahlberg Arena and beating Montana, 67-53, for the program’s first away win over the Lady Griz since Jan. 7, 2012 — and the fourth in program history.

Longtime coach and ultra-runner extraordinaire Ty Draney is this year’s keynote speaker for the Idaho State Journal’s Sports Stars awards banquet in Pocatello. Draney is a native of Auburn, Wyoming, and attended Idaho State University and Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho).
