POCATELLO — Bring your golf clubs and take swings at winning a $10,000 hole-in-one during the “Staying Alive” four-person team golf tournament taking place at 8:30 a.m Sept. 10 at the Riverside Golf Course, 3500 Bannock Highway in Pocatello.

Marjean Waford, tournament chair, said the “Staying Alive” theme embraces fun and exercise for everyone of all ages.

Each golfer pays $40; they will receive a swag bag and enjoy a lunch sponsored by Texas Roadhouse. Golfers will have an opportunity to win everything from a dinner for two to an overnight stay at a local area hotel.

Raffle tickets cost $1 or six for $5 and are also available to the non-playing public and tournament players.

For entry golf tournament applications and raffle tickets, contact the center at 208-233-1212 until 5 p.m. Sept. 9.

Waford said that the fundraiser funds stay local and are used to purchase food and keep providing free noon meals to seniors (60 plus and older) Tuesday through Friday.

Center Director Anita Valladolid said that due to “the increasing cost of food, more and more seniors have lunch at the center,” and “before and after partake of exercise, cards, bingo and dance class activities.”
