Kade Hall (Highland) — Montana State University-Billings

Highland graduate Kade Hall, a Montana State-Billings baseball player, was named player of the week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association West Region and Great Northwest Athletic Conference this week.

The senior outfielder’s play last week was highlighted by Friday’s performance, when he had season highs in home runs (two), hits (four), RBIs (four) and runs (three) on six at-bats in a 14-13 loss at Central Washington.

Hall has 46 hits, 33 runs, 29 RBIs, seven homers and a .362 batting average this season.

MSU-Billings (19-11, 14-6 GNAC) hosts Western Oregon for a three-game series Friday-Saturday.

Makenzie VanSickle (Highland) — Idaho State University

Highland graduate Makenzie VanSickle is the Idaho State softball team’s top hitter.

VanSickle has the squad’s best batting average at .329 and is tied for a team-high 23 hits.

The junior outfielder had her best performance Feb. 24, when she had a season-high three hits on three at-bats in an 8-3 loss against New Mexico State in the UTEP tournament.

The Bengals (5-25, 1-5 Big Sky Conference) host Northern Colorado in a three-game series Saturday-Sunday.

Ashlyn Winn (Highland) — North Idaho College

Highland graduate Ashlyn Winn immediately found her groove with the North Idaho softball team.

The freshman utility player tallied multiple hits in three of her first four games of the season, including in a 23-0 win against Ancilla on March 10, when she tallied a season-high four hits, all of which were extra-base hits. She added three RBIs and three runs.

Winn has tallied 31 hits, 28 runs and 26 RBIs and seven homers this season.

North Idaho (20-2, 11-1 Northwest Athletic Conference — East) hosts Spokane in a doubleheader Wednesday.
