I want to thank Leonard Hitchcock for his excellent article, “A Response to Rep. Chad Christensen’s column” presented Thursday, Nov. 14. I had also prepared a response, as Rep. Christensen’s article was incredibly outlandish, especially for an elected representative.

As we all have a constitutional right to voice our opinions, Rep. Christensen’s ideals are a distortion of our Constitution and biblical teachings. For a public representative to promote anti-government ideals and preach unfounded “Christian” beliefs of this nature is dangerous and leads to demagoguery, oligarchy, autocracy, and/or anarchy. Thank God we are not a theocracy and we are a constitutional republic embracing a representative democracy.

I hope Mr. Hitchcock’s response was printed in the Idaho Falls/Ammon area, as Rep. Christensen is their representative and thankfully not ours.
