SODA SPRINGS — Local members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are planning to hold their second annual Easter Walk during the week of Easter.

Mitchell Hart, communications director for the Soda Springs Idaho Stake, said the Easter Walk will be held starting at 6 p.m. on April 13, 15 and 16 at the church building on 290 South Third West. Participants can enter the building on the north side across from Caribou Medical Center.

"We would like to invite the local and surrounding communities," Hart said.

This is the second year the Easter Walk has been held and the church plans to hold it in the years to come. They plan to work with other stakes for next year's Easter Walk.

"The idea was to partner with Grace," Hart said. "They were interested. That's the plan for 2026."

During the Easter Walk, participants will walk through seven different rooms. Each room is decorated with a different theme that coincides with the week leading up to Easter. The first room represents Palm Sunday. Others represent the Last Supper, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection.

"People walk through and it is very reverent," Hart said.

Hart said the best part about the Easter Walk last year was watching all the families come through and see all the different rooms. Hart said they want to focus on Easter as much as they focus on Christmas.

"It emphasized the reality and importance of Easter," Hart said about last year's Easter Walk. "We reflect on His life and sacrifice and resurrection."

Hart looks forward to having people come back to the Easter Walk this year. He said it is a good way to spend time with family members and it will be a learning experience for anyone who visits.

"If families come together, that would be meaningful to go home and further discuss their relationship with the Savior," Hart said.
