POCATELLO — Construction is officially underway for the new Connections Credit Union Clubhouse at Riverside Golf Course after a groundbreaking ceremony at the site.

The new two-story clubhouse will be approximately 3,700 square feet and will include cart storage in the basement, a golf simulator, a restaurant, a pro shop and 1,600 square feet of patio space.

The project marks a significant city investment in the future of Riverside Golf Course and the local golfing community. The city expects construction to be completed by January or February 2027.

Parks and Recreation Director Anne Butler expressed gratitude for the former and current city staff who made the project possible, as well as for the donation and support from Connections Credit Union, Booth Architecture, Construction Services and Fore Golf.

Connections Credit Union is contributing $700,000 toward the estimated $2 million project in exchange for naming rights. The remainder will be covered by the Golf Capital Improvement Fund, which is supported in part by a portion of every golfer’s green fees.

This isn’t just about a building. It’s about creating a space that brings people together, whether that’s friends, family, local organizations or community events that can be hosted right here.”

Construction will continue throughout the summer, and the city has outlined a temporary parking map to guide golfers and visitors to designated parking areas. Golf cart trailers will not be permitted in the main construction parking lot. Additional areas have been marked for trailer parking to accommodate users during construction.

The city is advising visitors to arrive early for their tee time and be respectful of surrounding residential areas. Drivers should also use extra caution along Bannock Highway during construction.

The new clubhouse is expected to be ready for the 2027 golf season.
