Idaho's gas prices have stayed under the national average for a second month in a row. 

Currently, the U.S. per-gallon average is $2.60, while Idaho is sitting at $2.44. This time last year, the state was at $2.67.

According to a report by AAA, Idaho is ranked 35th for highest gas prices in the country. Historically, the state usually ranks among the top 10. 

“Idahoans enjoyed some serious savings last fall and winter — gas prices constantly fell from Halloween through Feb. 25 of this year,” AAA Idaho public affairs director Matthew Conde said in a press release. “Even though we expect prices to keep climbing in the coming weeks, we were dealt a winning hand to begin the year.”

Historically gas prices start to rise in the spring.
