MONTPELIER — The future looks bright for a Montpelier tattoo shop that has been in business for over a year.
George Svingala opened Hole in the Wall Ink Elite Tattoo Shop at 831 Washington St. in September 2023.
He said he's been pleased with how his business has done since then.
"We had 3,000 customers in the first four months of being open," he said.
Hole in the Wall employs artists who've owned tattoo shops in places such as California, New York and Florida.
"We were just trying to see how it works out here," Svingala said.
Svingala is originally from California but he moved to Montpelier to look after his mother, who has since passed away.
"I wasn't born here, but this is my new home," he said.
Svingala said he looks forward to expanding his tattoo shop in the future and welcoming new customers.
He wasn't sure how successful Hole in the Wall would be at first, but so far it has done well.
"It's next door to the Butch Cassidy Museum," Svingala said. "It's the perfect spot. I'm good friends with the owner of the Butch Cassidy Museum."
Svingala encourages everyone to check out his shop. He has affordable prices and is open throughout the week.
"I just like tattoos," Svingala said.
