IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A frequently vandalized “Black Lives Matter” sign has been stolen from an eastern Idaho church.

Unitarian Universalist Church Rev. Lyn Stangland Cameron told the Post Register newspaper that the sign was stolen on Monday or Tuesday.

Members of the Idaho Falls church put the sign up in February in response to several high-profile police shootings of African-Americans around the country. The sign has been vandalized four times in the months since. In August, vandals pulled the sign out of the ground, along with the cement that anchored the sign post.

The church hosted a community forum last month to discuss the sign and the Black Lives Matter movement.

Stangland Cameron reported the theft to police. She says church members will meet next week to discuss whether to replace the sign and install security cameras.
