Kacie Burnett’s won the 2017 NCAA softball batting title with a .487 average. She finished her career with a .460 average, which ranks as the ninth-best average in NCAA softball history.

Prior to the start of the Big Sky Conference tournament, Burnett ranked third in the country in batting with a .463 average. In the five games at the tournament, Burnett went 12 for 18 to bump her average to .487 for the season. The Bengals’ 2017 season ended one game away from the Big Sky championship game.

Burnett is only Big Sky softball player to earn first-team all-league honors all four years. She was the 2017 Big Sky Conference Player of the Year and is a three-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association second-team all-region player.

Burnett finished her career with a school record 217 runs scored, 320 hits, 20 triples and 116 stolen bases.

She was twice named to the USA Softball Preseason Watch List and in 2017, she was a finalist for the award.

The Bengal senior will remain in Pocatello one more year to finish her degree in nursing.
