Idaho State junior wide receiver Mitch Gueller was named to the HERO Sports third-team FCS All-America, announced Wednesday. Gueller’s All-America honor is the first earned by an ISU player this year.

Gueller had one of the best seasons by a wide receiver in ISU history, helping the Bengals maintain one of the most prolific offenses in FCS football. The 6-foot-3, 220-pound wideout led ISU pass-catchers with 62 receptions and 1,259 yards and was second on the team with nine TD grabs. Gueller’s 114.5 yards receiving per game rank fourth in the FCS, and his 20.3 yards per reception rank ninth.

Gueller’s 1,259 yards receiving this season rank third in ISU’s single-season record book, and he is 225 yards away from surpassing Rodrick Rumble for the program’s career lead in receiving yardage.
