POCATELLO — Happy birthday to Merlin and Sharon Phillips. Merlin Edward Phillips was born in Lehi, Utah, on April 15, 1939, and Sharon was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Oct. 23, 1939. They met in the sixth grade and have been married for 62 years. They moved to Pocatello, Idaho, in April 1974 and have lived in Chubbuck since 1998. They are the parents of Cheryl Buttars, Susie (Steve) Barlow, Carolyn (Wayne) Howard, Lisa (Brooke) Allen and Steve (Lisa) Phillips. They have been blessed with a posterity of 56 grands and greats with more on the way. Mom and dad, your examples, hard work, kind deeds and support throughout your lives are appreciated by so many. We love you.
