POCATELLO — Getting to some of Pocatello’s most popular summer attractions is about to get a little easier.

Starting June 5, Pocatello Regional Transit (PRT) will add a stop at Lower Ross Park to the service’s D Route.

The new destination will give PRT riders direct access to Zoo Idaho, the Ross Park Aquatic Complex, and the skate park located along South 2nd Avenue. The route will provide hourly stops Monday through Friday from 8:19 a.m. to 5:19 p.m.

“We’d like to invite everyone to let PRT help you ‘Play Often and Live Better,’” said Pocatello Regional Transit Director Dave Hunt. “For just a couple of dollars, you can spend the day at the zoo, cool off in the pool, or just enjoy all that Ross Park has to offer without getting behind the wheel."

A round-trip via PRT is $2 for adults and $1 for students, and kids eight and under ride free when accompanied by a parent or guardian. The area’s skateboarding population is especially in luck. Those who purchase a skate deck through DeckadencE will have a one-way trip to the park paid for by the business.

The modified route will run until Aug. 18.
