POCATELLO — The newly formed Idaho State University Alumni Chamber Choir, conducted by Scott Anderson, will present “Magnificat” on Dec. 21 and Dec. 22 at 6 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 248 N. Arthur Ave. in Pocatello.

The program will include J. S. Bach’s Magnificat in D Major, selections from Bach’s Cantata 61 “Come, Savior of the Nations” and Sonata No. 3 in C Major for solo violin performed by Laurana Wheeler Roderer, and Benjamin Britten’s “Hymn to the Virgin.”

Featured singers include sopranos Diana Livingston Friedley and Caryn Marlowe; mezzo-soprano Claire Dye; altos Amanda Bowden, Michelle Adams, Laura Smith and Haley Jones; tenors Jason Dyer and Geoffrey Friedley; and bass Phillip Marlowe.

The ISU Alumni Chamber Choir is comprised of 39 singers, all of whom sang for at least two years in the ISU Chamber Choir during their undergraduate studies under the direction of Anderson. These singers work as educators, health professionals, librarians, lawyers, business entrepreneurs, private music teachers, parents, and in many other professional positions and careers. Thirteen members of the choir are choral music educators who lead elementary, middle school and/or high school choral programs.

The Pocatello Collegium Musicum was founded by Geoffrey Friedley in 2024 for the performance of Baroque music and for the enjoyment of performers and audience alike. The current ensemble of musicians from throughout Southeast Idaho includes ISU faculty and alumni.

Admission is free. Donations will be accepted at the door. The concert is produced by Musicians West Inc., with a generous grant from the Bistline Foundation in the Idaho Community Foundation.
