POCATELLO — The Idaho State University Master of Accountancy program, one of the top accounting programs in the nation, can now be completed fully online. This new offering was created to make the program more flexible for students, especially working professionals. Asynchronous coursework means all classes are pre-recorded by College of Business professors and can be accessed anytime. Depending on the student’s academic background, coursework can be completed in as little as one year.

“The ISU accounting program has a long and proud history of producing graduates who excel on the CPA exam and in their professional careers. Our alumni have gone on to achieve great success as regional and even national leaders in accounting, finance, investing and entrepreneurship,” said associate professor of accounting and department chair Justin Wood. “We are excited to make our program accessible to future business leaders who need more flexibility than our traditional on-campus program can provide.”

Not only is the MAcc flexible but it’s also affordable. As one of the most affordable MAcc programs in the area, students can expect to earn their degree for as little as $15,702. The program also comes with a globally recognized accreditation from the world’s most renowned business accrediting body, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

"The Master of Accountancy at ISU has long been the best opportunity for students to prepare for work in accounting,” said director of graduate studies Kristine McCarty. “We are thrilled that this is now open to students outside of Southeastern Idaho. The flexibility of this will allow students working full-time the chance to pursue the program on their schedule from any location."

Applications for the college’s graduate programs are open until June 1 for fall. Applicants will need to visit isu.edu/graduate to start their application. Two letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose, a resume, and a GRE or GMAT test scores are required. The entrance exam is waived for applicants with an undergraduate GPA of 3.5 or higher.
