POCATELLO — The Idaho State-Civic Symphony is proud to announce its 2025–26 season “Creative Courage,” featuring a wide range of musical voices and powerful collaborations. The season opens Sept. 26 with a performance of “Voluntary Breath,” a new saxophone concerto by Idaho State University faculty member Jon Armstrong, followed by Rimsky-Korsakov’s beloved “Scheherazade.”

Under the artistic leadership of conductor and artistic director Nell Flanders, the Symphony continues its commitment to sharing transformative musical experiences with audiences across Southeast Idaho. Highlights of the upcoming season include Brahms’ “German Requiem,” a genre-blending Pops concert with DJ/composer/vocalist/violinist Bad Snacks, and performances featuring winners of the Symphony’s Young Artists Competition.

The Symphony is also pleased to reaffirm its commitment to accessibility. All ISU students and members of the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes can receive free tickets to Classical Series concerts, while tickets for K–12 students are available for just $8.

In addition to the Classical Series and Pops concerts at Jensen Grand Concert Hall, the Symphony continues to support music education through programs like Link Up, masterclasses with guest artists and the ISCS Youth Orchestra.

This year also marks a significant leadership transition within the youth orchestra program. Following an incredible tenure, youth orchestra director Jan Eddington has retired. The Symphony is pleased to welcome Sharlie Winder as the new co-director of the ISCS Youth Orchestra, joining returning co-director Robert Wilson. Together, they will lead the region’s most talented young musicians in a new season of growth and performance.

Season tickets for “Creative Courage” are available now to renewing ticket holders through the Stephens Performing Arts Center Box Office in person or by calling 208-282-3595. New season ticket purchases will open to the public on Monday at the box office and online at www.iscsymphony.org. Individual concert tickets will be available beginning Aug. 18.
