Jalen Brunson brought his NBA champion teammates to "Saturday Night Live" for the show's 52nd season premiere. The New York star and reigning NBA Finals MVP hosted the episode, with Knicks teammates Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, O.G. Anunoby, and Josh Hart in the audience. Brunson joked about not singing, Stephen A. Smith owing him an apology, and Madison Square Garden being where Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got married. His teammates joined in the fun, asking humorous questions during the monologue. Brunson is the first active NBA player to host "SNL" since LeBron James in 2007.
The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards are here and Taylor Swift is set to make history. It was announced Monday that Swift will receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors, making her the most awarded artist in VMA history. She is currently tied with Beyoncé, each having 30 awards. The new honor will bring her total to 31. Snoop Dogg, a three-time VMA winner, will host the event. The show will broadcast live on CBS from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Madonna leads the nominations with 11, followed by Swift with nine. Performers include Madonna, Raye and others.

Some former Kennedy Center employees are accusing officials at the performing arts venue of long knowing about structural issues they recently cited as new problems. The anonymous whistleblowers allege in a letter to Congress that top Kennedy Center official Matt Floca halted a funded plan to address roofing issues in April. Floca denies that and says recent investigations revealed new hazards at the building. The center closed temporarily in September as officials cited safety risks from structural deterioration. A judge has ordered a status report by Friday on the temporary closure.
