The six sons, daughters-in-law and the 18 grandchildren of Rhoud and Susan Porter would like to announce the 50th anniversary celebration held in their honor from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at 13979 W. Siphon Road in Pocatello, Idaho. Friends and family are invited to attend. No gifts, please.

Rhoud and Susan Porter were married May 31, 1968, in the Idaho Falls Temple. They were blessed with six boys.

Susan Adamson was raised in Terreton, Idaho, by Ted and May Adamson. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Idaho State University and taught hundreds of students in her elementary classrooms for 24 years. She served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Rhoud in the Florida Tallahassee Mission. She continues to raise her boys and is now helping to better the lives of her grandkids all while ministering to all who are lucky to cross her love-filled path.

Rhoud Wanner Porter grew up in Cub River (near Preston), Idaho, on a farm and ranch. His parents are the late George and Laverna Porter. He served a full-time mission to Toronto, Canada, and later another to Florida with Susan. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Idaho State University, bought and managed the Tastee Treet Drive Ins from 1975 to 2011, and he has continued his love for farming for many decades. He still farms and volunteers his time wherever his help is needed. Rhoud was scoutmaster of dozens and mentor for hundreds more, who had the opportunity to work with, serve with or be acquainted with him. The couple currently serves weekly in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Rhoud and Susan are the parents of Brandon (Jennifer), Ryan (Andrea), Steven (Brittany), Scott (Julie), Sean and Chris (Roslynn).
