POCATELLO — Through the combined efforts of the My World Discovery Museum and the Museum of Clean, adults and children of all ages are invited to the Touch a Truck grand opening event.

My World Discovery Museum had announced its plan to move from its location in the Pine Ridge Mall to the Museum of Clean on South Second Avenue in March of this year and is now rolling out a special event for its grand re-opening.

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 4 at 711 S. Second Ave. in Pocatello, children and their families will get an up-close look at an assortment of impressive vehicles that include a lofty fire truck and an immense dump truck. Attendees will be able to inspect, explore and touch these towering titans in a supervised and safe environment.

“We are thrilled for this grand opening event for both museums,” said Rob Simons, Director of the Museum of Clean. “We are excited to partner and provide a platform for children to discover the role of trucks in keeping our community clean and efficient. It’s a perfect blend of fun and education.”

Part of the My World Discovery Museums intention is to “awaken children’s natural curiosity about the world through interactive opportunities and exhibits,” and this event will certainly offer not only spectacle but an idyllic space for kids to learn more about vehicles and how they function.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for kids to learn and explore in a fun, tactile way,” said Melody Daniels, the director of My World Discovery. “It’s about more than just touching trucks — it’s about sparking curiosity and inspiring future learning.”

The Touch a Truck event is free to the public and will include games, educational activities and an assortment of food vendors. The event will be held outside. Entrance to the museum will not be free. The first 100 kids in attendance will receive a free construction hat, according to the My World Discovery Facebook page.
