President Trump was recently forced to capitulate for the first time in his second term reign when a handful of Republicans stood firm against his stance on not releasing the Epstein files. He has also suffered setbacks in elections in several states, Indiana redistricting, and his attempt to end the filibuster. He has gotten party pushback on his 50-year mortgage proposal, his flip-flop on H-1B visas, and pardons of his 2020 allies.
Accordingly, Trump has been complaining about “very bad” Republicans of late. The problem with that, folks, is that there are no real Republicans left in America today, good or bad. A Republican is one who supports the Congress making “all laws” and the President merely administering or “executing” those laws, as the name of the executive branch implies. The opposite of that is being implemented by the Republicans of MAGA today. The President makes all the laws, not Congress, like when he told Congress to trash their compromise bipartisan border bill and wait for him to get in office so he could implement his own desired policy on the border.
Republicans today are acting more like the communists of Vladimir Lenin’s Bolshevik party. They are criminalizing dissent when their leader says Democrats and contrary judges belong in jail, just like Bolsheviks criminalized the Menshevik opposition.
Republicans have used torture against immigrant deportees in the CECOT prison in El Salvador, like Lenin and Stalin did in their Siberian deportations. They are using deplorable U.S. detention centers like the one in 26 Federal Plaza, New York City, and Florida’s Alligator Alcatraz.
Republicans are constantly flattering their infallible leader, Donald J. Trump. Lenin wrote, “In this era it is impossible to gain the following of the masses without a widely ramified, systematically managed, well-equipped system of flattery.” Flattery allows followers to turn the party into a totalitarian party where the leader can do no wrong and is championed either by God Almighty or else by the supposed great majority of the masses of the people (in non-existent polls), or else by a Supreme Court that gives him immunity from prosecution for crimes committed while in office. Lenin did the same when he positioned himself and his party as the “vanguard” of the proletariat, or, in other words, a group of people whose thinking was more advanced than everybody else’s and therefore whose party had less need for accountability than everybody else.
Republicans are subverting rule of law everywhere they go, like Lenin did in overthrowing the Duma parliament in Russia. This includes constitutional law, for example, by usurping the legislative “power of the purse,” and international law, for example, by soft-shoeing the preliminary findings of the International Court of Justice regarding genocide in Gaza.
Republicans mimic their leader’s constant lying. They operate on the basis of a distortion of reality, which is whatever the Leader says reality is, like they are only going after immigrants with criminal records. Their own reports say that more than 70% of detainees have no record of criminal conduct whatsoever. Lenin said, “Lying is justified by our objectives.” Republicans believe that today.
Republicans’ main operating principle is the use of extortion or force, as in the example of tariff policy used to forcefully produce foreign investment in America. Also, the extortion of payments from universities to atone for their sin of antisemitism and payment from law firms to atone for their sin of representing the wrong side in court. This is like Lenin’s famous extortion letters and actions during the “Red Terror.”
Their criminal justice philosophy is punishment without due process and without publicly disclosed evidence, as with the bombings of boats in the Caribbean. Their actions are taken mainly on the say-so of immoral leaders, just like in Lenin’s kangaroo courts.
Their system of discipline in the party is by means of propaganda that the members must recite. For example, they must say that their program is “America First.” In actuality, Trump is engaged in putting his authoritarian buddies in foreign nations in the position of “Authoritarians First,” like in Argentina, Israel, Hungary, and even China, of whose leader, Xi, Trump says, “I like him a lot.” Marjorie Taylor Green recently said Trump is spending a lot of time overseas, leaving domestic issues to fester like health care policy issues, betraying his goal of America First.

I'm interested in resources for these statements. I appreciate that this leader is no good for our country, but I'd like something a bit more concrete.
