Tennessee athletic director Danny White says the NCAA agreed to reduce linebacker Arion Carter’s suspension from two games to one over a $427 flight to an NFL training facility during the pre-draft process. White wrote on social media that he strongly agrees with coach Josh Heupel that the suspension was ridiculous, though a one-game suspension for the season opener Sept. 5 against Furman is better than two games. White said the NCAA should drop it altogether considering the current environment. The Tennessee AD said this is another example of applying archaic rules from another era.

Some of the NFL’s top receivers came from the Southeastern Conference: A.J. Brown, Ja’Marr Chase, Mike Evans, Justin Jefferson, Jerry Jeudy, George Pickens and DeVonta Smith, to name a few. There are more on the way, maybe even a few who could be potential stars at the next level. Cam Coleman and Ryan Wingo give Texas arguably the most dynamic duo in the league, maybe even the country. Alabama's Ryan Coleman-Williams is looking for a bounce-back season, and South Carolina's Nyck Harbor has a rare combination of size and speed.
