The Runnin’ Rebels racked up 34 hits and 25 runs in a doubleheader sweep of Minico on the road Tuesday. With the wins, the Runnin’ Rebels finish their district slate at 12-2 and lock up the No. 1 seed for the district tournament beginning July 23.

Pocatello cruised to a 17-4 win in game one. The Runnin’ Rebels scattered 20 hits, eight of which went for extra bases. Kam Farnsworth and Kade Hall went deep and eight players contributed multi-hit games. Hall and Dylan Mansanarez combined to drive in seven runs and Poky stole seven bases.

“First game we showed up and we played like we should,” said Runnin’ Rebels coach Dan McCaskill.

In game two, Minico was able to score six runs against Runnin’ Rebels ace Trevor Bowers and held a 6-5 lead in the seventh. Pocatello tied the score in the seventh and Hall hit the go-ahead two-run base knock with two outs in the eighth.

For the day, Hall was a combined 4 for 8 with six RBIs, four steals, a double and a homer.

“Kade’s been our MVP this year for sure,” McCaskill said.

CC Burrup went 4 of 7 at the plate and smacked two doubles and a triple. The Highland junior-to-be also pitched three shutout innings with one hit and no walks in the game one victory.

Bowers struck out 14 and walked three in seven innings on the mound in game two and Conner LaMont finished the night 3 for 4 with a pair of two-baggers.

The Runnin’ Rebels play Blackfoot on the road Wednesday in a doubleheader.
