Stiofain Gael MacGeough's response to my letter on hate really puzzled me. 

He stated fear is the father of hate, ignorance the mother. 

Being puzzled, I looked up the definition of hate, fear and ignorance. 

The definition of hate has no reference to fear or ignorance. 

The definition of fear has no reference to hate. 

The definition of ignorance has no reference to hate.

I have absolutely no idea what message he was trying to relate.
