Not since the latter days of the Reagan administration, and to a much greater degree, millions of Americans are pondering this question.
The wild mood swings, online rants and incoherent conversations of Donald Trump leave many folks questioning his sanity. What does a professional think? Gary Greenberg is a psychotherapist acclaimed for disparaging the way traditional diagnoses of mental illness are made. He questions how psychiatrists work and offers this doleful assessment of Trump’s mental health in a Sun magazine interview:
“I’m not sure it’s useful to think of Donald Trump as crazy. Many have said he has narcissistic personality disorder, but psychiatric diagnoses can distract from much more troubling realities. The reality of Donald Trump is much more disquieting than a diagnosis of mental illness would suggest. He’s a menace, an amoral clown, a mean, power-hungry bully — and apparently a perfect fit for these times. He doesn’t even sound crazy to me. He sounds like a horrible human being.”
I wonder what total Trump supporters like Raul Labrador or Rudy Giuliani would think of that?
