Thursday, July 2The Pocatello animal shelter is excited to announce a new Children’s Story Time Program designed to inspire, educate and encourage young animal lovers through stories and creative activities. These will run weekly for children ages 6-10 from 1 to 2 p.m.
Marshall Public Library is celebrating America’s 250th Birthday with a birthday cake from 2 to 4 p.m. Special guest Andrea Soleta Schmutz, Miss Idaho for America Strong will also be there.
First National Bar is having a live music night with Southeast Idaho’s own Keagan Park and special guest opener Three Jacks from 8:15 p.m. to midnight. Grab your friends, enjoy your favorite drinks, and grab a bite from the full-food menu, no cover charge required! Must be 21+ to participate.

Friday, July 3Historic Downtown Pocatello kicks off the holiday weekend a day early with a First Friday Art Walk on July 3. The highlight is the sealing of a community time capsule set to be opened in 2076. The event begins at 5 p.m. outside the Marshall Public Library, 113 S. Garfield Ave.
Friday-Saturday, July 3-4Malad celebrates America 250 with an early bird breakfast, street dance on Main Street, Cannonade, fun run, parade, shoot out, kids races and fireworks at the fair grounds.
Saturday, July 4Bannock County celebrates Independence Day all day at the Bannock County Events Center. The celebration includes fireworks and a drone show, beach party, car show, kids games, bouncy houses, a water feature, live music, face painting, food vendors and more.
Pocatello’s Annual Independence Day parade begins 9:30 a.m. July 4 in Historic Downtown Pocatello. The procession begins at West Fremont and North Main, travels north to Sublette, turns left onto Arthur, heads south to Bonneville, then turns left back onto Main Street, continuing to Lander, where it disperses in the Union Pacific parking lots. Due to the Center Street Underpass closure, the route runs only on the west side of downtown.
A car show hosted by the Poky Car Club runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Portneuf Wellness Complex. The evening event starts at 6:30 where live music, food, vendors and fireworks will fill the night.
The Idaho State-Civic Symphony will perform at the Portneuf Wellness amphitheater stage beginning at 8 p.m. Free general admission lawn seating is first-come, first-served. Bring blankets and low-profile chairs. Guest performers include New York pianist Jeffrey Biegel, Lenet Neifert, vocalist Jenna McLean and soprano Jordan Bowman.
The Wellness Complex fireworks show begins around 10 p.m. Attendees can tune their radios to listen to patriotic music synchronized with the display, which can be seen from miles around.
The Portneuf Valley Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Saturday through October at Lookout Point in downtown Pocatello.
The Crafter’s Market takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday inside Station Square, 200 S. Main St., in Historic Downtown Pocatello. Visitors can shop a rotating selection of local vendors offering jewelry, art, home décor, plants and more, with new makers featured each week.
Monday, July 6Curbside Cravings is open from 4 to 8 p.m. every Monday through September at Lookout Point in downtown Pocatello. There will be a variety of food trucks.
Tuesday, July 7The Pocatello animal shelter hosts Children’s Story Time Program for ages 5 and under every Tuesday at the Pocatello animal shelter from 1 to 2 p.m.
The River Concert Series takes place every Tuesday night from 7-8 PM on the Greenbelt Stage in Idaho Falls. Concerts are free to the public. Bring a chair or blanket and soak up live music by the river.
