Idaho State Police are investigating two crashes that occurred at 7:40 am Tuesday on US Highway 20 near milepost 315 at the Ucon overpass in Bonneville County.

The driver, a 21-year-old man from Idaho Falls, in a white 2006 F150, was traveling eastbound on US 20 when he lost control on the icy roadway, crossed over the median and struck a white 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 42-year-old man from Rigby. Occupants of both vehicles were wearing their seatbelts and were checked out by emergency responders.

The second crash occurred at 7:46 am just before the Ucon exit. The driver, a 20-year-old male from Rexburg, in a 2022 RAM 3500, rear ended a 2002 Ford Explorer, driven by a 42-year-old female from Rexburg. The Explorer was pushed into a 2024 Subaru Outback, driven by a 35-year-old female from Rigby. The Outback was pushed into a 2020 Kia Telluride, driven by a 49-year-old male from Rigby. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts.

The driver of the explorer was transported to a local hospital.
