MONTPELIER — A failed component on the main transformer at the substation in Montpelier caused a power outage that started Wednesday afternoon and, for some, didn’t end until Thursday afternoon.
The incident began shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday and initially affected 2,213 customers in the Montpelier, Dingle, Paris and Ovid areas, according to Rocky Mountain Power officials.
They were able to reduce the number of affected customers to 1,400 over the course of the evening and to 1,065 by 4:30 a.m. Thursday, officials said. Power was fully restored by 2:30 p.m.
