Bear Lake

A Utah man died at Bear Lake on Monday morning after he apparently slipped into the water attempting to step from his vessel to the dock in the Rainbow Cove area at Bear Lake.

According to Eugene Swalberg, a spokesman for Utah State Parks, Robert B. Doman, 69, of Morgan County, was found unresponsive at the water’s edge at about 11:30 a.m. Monday.

A nearby park user heard the splash and cries for help and observed Doman face-down in the water.

The park user retrieved Doman from the water and performed CPR until park and medical personnel arrived to assist. Medical efforts to revive him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
