POCATELLO — The Democratic Party’s nominee in the election for Bannock County Clerk has withdrawn from the race.

Kelly “Martinez” Rodriguez ended his candidacy to replace outgoing Bannock County Clerk Robert Poleki on Monday. The Bannock County Democratic Party has 15 days to choose a new candidate.

A meeting to select a replacement candidate for the Bannock County Clerk race will be held on June 4 at 7 p.m. at the Pocatello Elks Lodge, 410 S. Main St. The candidate who is chosen will face Republican Jason Dixon in the November general election.

Any Bannock County Democrat who wishes to be chosen to replace Rodriguez must inform the local party no later than 5 p.m. Friday. If interested, contact Steve Landon, chair of the Bannock County Democrats, at 208-237-5337.
