POCATELLO — The recently indicted inmate who walked away Friday from a Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center work crew was arrested a little over 24 hours later.

Kirsten Walz, 39, was taken into custody without incident at 4 p.m. Saturday at a Pocatello residence, authorities said. Pocatello police and Idaho Department of Correction personnel located and arrested her.

Authorities said that Walz walked away from her work crew assignment around 2:20 p.m. Friday in northeast Pocatello.

Walz, who is also known as Kirsten Decker, was indicted on Thursday on federal drug charges. Prior to that, she was sentenced to one to five years in prison in 2015 for possession and delivery of a controlled substance in Canyon County.

In 2016 in Ada County she was sentenced to one to five years in prison for forgery.

Prior to walking away from her work crew assignment, Walz would have been eligible to be considered for parole in September.
