Idaho State Police announced they have arrested a former Ammon city councilman on charges related to child sexual abuse.

Byron Wiscombe, 44, was reelected to his third term on the Ammon City Council in November only to resign in December.

According to Wednesday’s news release, Wiscombe faces charges of lewd conduct with a minor, sexual battery of a minor, video voyeurism and misdemeanor sexual battery. No charges were filed in court as of Wednesday afternoon, and details on the the case were not available.

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office and Bonneville County Prosecutor’s Office worked with Idaho State Police on the investigation of Wiscombe.
