Fremont County Emergency Management reports first responders assisting at three separate accidents at the St. Anthony Sand Dunes earlier this week.

“These incidents serve as an important reminder that ATV riding can be dangerous when proper safety precautions are not followed, and, sometimes, even when they are,” said the organization on its Facebook page.

The names and the conditions of the accident victims weren’t immediately made available.

FCEM urged everyone to be cautious while enjoying what Fremont County has to offer.

“It doesn’t take much for sportsmen to get hurt,” it said. “Ride smart. Ride sober. Ride safe.”

To help sportsman hone their riding skills, the organization is offering safety classes to be held starting this month and continuing through August.

The classes will be held at 9 a.m., at 331 W. 1st Street in St. Anthony on the following dates: June 24 and June 26; July 8, 18, and 22; August 1, 5, 15 and 19. Depending on class size, the classes will run anywhere from two to four hours.

“All ages are welcome,” the FCEM said.

Attendees need to bring their own ATV or OTV that is currently registered. They’ll also need to bring protective gear such as a Department of Transportation approved helmet, eye protection, gloves, a long-sleeved shirt and pants and over the ankle boots.
