BLACKFOOT — The Eastern Idaho State Fair attracted more than 247,000 people and set a new grandstand record.

Country superstar Brett Young kicked off the fair on the opening Friday and was the best selling country act ever to play at the fair, drawing more than 6,000 people. His hits include songs such as "In Case You Didn’t Know" and "Here Tonight."

The Offspring drew more than 5,000 people on Sept. 5, and on Sept. 6, comedian Gabriel Iglesias performed to 7,000 people.
