BRIGHAM CITY, Utah — A construction crew working in Brigham City stumbled upon a black garbage bag with human remains inside on Wednesday around 2 p.m., according to the Brigham City Police Department.
The remains were found near 2600 West Highway 13.
Construction workers had initially opened the bag, assuming it was trash, according to police. When they saw what appeared to be human remains, they contacted law enforcement and the Brigham City Police Department quickly responded to the scene.
“Officers responded to the area and confirmed that the contents of the bag were human,” Brigham City police stated in a news release. “Currently, the Brigham City Police Department is investigating this incident as a homicide.”
The investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement asks that anyone with any information contact the Box Elder 911 center at 435-856-7023.
