Those who love the arts will have plenty of options for fun this weekend.

Here is a taste of what is going on:

The First Friday Art Walk is tonight. Many merchants in Old Town Pocatello will be hosting local musicians and artists. Some will also be offering light refreshments. The walk begins at 5 p.m. and lasts until about 8 p.m.

Don't forgot that our local high schools almost always have some sort of theater or band production happening on the weekends.

This weekend at Highland High School "The Three Musketeers" will be presented on Friday, Saturday and Monday at 7 p.m. in the HHS auditorium at 7 p.m. each night. Tickets are $3 and $5. For more information, call the school at 237-1300.

At Century High School, the jazz band will host the Seventh Annual Potato Pizzazz with Jazz concert tonight from 6-8 p.m. in the commons area. This is a fundraiser for the CHS Jazz Band. Cost is $5 per person and $20 per family and includes a potato bar, salad, desserts and drinks. For more information, call the school at 237-1300.

The Blackfoot Performing Arts Center, 870 S. Fisher St., will present Rob Robinson and the Twin Cities Community Gospel Choir concert on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The more than 100 singers of various ethnic backgrounds, religions and musical experience perform African-American gospel music. All seats are reserved with tickets $20 adults and $15 for senior citizens and students. They are available at Tweedy's Music in Blackfoot or by calling BPAC at 317-5508.

And don't forget that the Pocatello High School varsity boys' basketball team will be competing in the state tournament on Saturday at the College of Idaho in Caldwell.

Former National Fingerstyle Guitar Competition winner Bill Mize will be performing with Beth Bramhall for the First Friday Coffee House on Saturday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 309 N. Garfield Ave. Tickets are $8 at the door, and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Also on Saturday, the Creative Acting School in Pocatello will host its annual "Chair-ity" auction at the Ramada Inn, 133 W. Burnside, Chubbuck. There will be more than 25 themed chairs to be auctioned off. Viewing, door prizes and dinner will begin at 5 p.m. The auction is at 7 p.m. Cost is $15 per person and proceeds will go to the school to buy math and science materials. And on Sunday, America's Junior Miss 2008-09, Lindsey Brinton, will be in Pocatello at 6 p.m. in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall in the Stephens Performing Arts Center. Brinton will give the presentation "Be Your Best Self." The event is free and youth ages 12 to 18 are encouraged to attend. Best dress is preferred. For more information, call 760-9191.
