POCATELLO RUNNIN REBELS 8, BURLEY 2

The Runnin Rebels' Cam Corpus pitched his team to an 8-2 win Friday against Burley in the Minico tournament.

The pitcher tossed 5 1/3 innings of three-hit ball. He allowed one earned run while striking out 10 batters. 

With Corpus' strong effort on the mound setting the pace, the Runnin Rebels' bats notched 10 hits, including three by Hunter Roubidoux. Teammate Hayden Foltz added a pair of base knocks. 

The Runnin Rebels (6-3) continue tournament play Saturday against Bishop Kelly.

GLENDIVE (MT) 13, POCATELLO RAZORBACKS 3 (5)

The Razorbacks fell 13-3 in five innings to Glendive, Montana, at the Billings tournament Friday.

Glendive jumped on the Razorbacks early, scoring seven runs in the first inning to lead 7-1. Pocatello added two runs in the top of the third, but Glendive scored two runs in the bottom of the third and four runs in the bottom of the fourth to get the win.

"We could have done a lot better," Razorbacks coach Mark Davie said. "We didn't hit the baseball too much. We're still the No. 1 seed in the silver bracket, and we'll try to win it."

Ian Norby and Austin Losser had one RBI apiece in the loss.

Pocatello (5-4) continues the Billings tournament Saturday.

POCATELLO REBELS 8, MIDDLETON 5

The Rebels fought off a slow start Friday to earn an 8-5 comeback win against Middleton in the Boise Hubble Homes tournament.

After Middleton led 1-0 following the first inning, the Rebels scored four runs in the third inning to take the lead and added four more runs in the sixth to pull away. Six of the Rebels' seven hits came in the third and sixth innings.

Five different Rebels had an RBI in the win, including a pair from Garrett Burgemeister.

"The kids hit the ball well," Pocatello coach Jason Jones said. "They showed up and made the routine plays. We are improving slowly."

Pocatello (5-6) plays Saturday against Caldwell on the final day of group play.

POCATELLO RAYS 12, CANYON RIDGE 2 (6)

The Rays' benefited from Canyon Ridge's erratic pitching in their 12-2 home win Friday.

Pocatello had five hits, but Canyon Ridge's pitchers walked nine batters. The Rays took advantage, scoring at least one run in four of six innings. Pocatello broke the game open with a five-run fourth inning before closing with a four-run sixth.

"As long as we are hitting strikes, we are going to get pitchers to be erratic," Pocatello coach Connor Lamont said. "We were aggressive"

Cash Jensen, Carter Shipley, Kyler Knowles, and Ethan Wolfenbarger each had two RBIs in the win.

The Rays' second game Friday against Canyon Ridge was postponed because of inclement weather.

The Ray (4-3) play a doubleheader Monday at Twin Falls.

BISHOP KELLY 4, BLACKFOOT 1

Blackfoot struggled to scrap together runs in a 4-1 loss to Bishop Kelly in the Minico tournament on Friday.

The Knights' four runs were scored in the third-fifth innings.

"Our approaches to the plate were not great," Blackfoot coach Liam Pope said. "We were sloppy defensively."

Will Park was the lone Broncos batter with multiple hits with two.

Blackfoot (3-2) plays Minico on Saturday.
