The Idaho State softball team dropped two games Tuesday to visiting Boise State at Miller Ranch Stadium. The Broncos won game one 6-3 and capped the doubleheader with a 16-0 win in five innings.

In the first game, Boise State (25-11) rallied from a 3-2 deficit to earn the win.

The Bengals (5-25, 1-5 Big Sky Conference) led 3-2 after five innings of play, but Boise State scored four runs in the top of the sixth to gain the advantage.

“In the first game, they hit the ball great, but we played good defense,” Idaho State coach Candi Letts said. “We were able to get out of a lot of situations. We didn’t, per se, tear it up as far as hitting, but we did enough to put ourselves in a position to win the first game. We just had one miscue and let that game get away from us.”

In the second game, the Bengals struggled, finishing with three hits and no runs while giving up 14 hits and 16 runs.

Idaho State is back in action Friday for a home doubleheader against Northern Colorado.
