A 42-year-old local man died as the result of injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 15 south of Inkom on Friday evening.

The Bannock County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the man who died as Christopher Sandoval of McCammon.

“I want to express my condolences to Christopher’s family and friends for this unimaginable loss,” said Bannock County Coroner Torey Danner.

The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. Friday when Sandoval was heading southbound on a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle and entered the median where the motorcycle overturned, Idaho State Police said.

Sandoval was not wearing a helmet and succumbed to his injuries at the scene, authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
