Reed Gym pool

The grand reopening of the Reed Gym Pool will be held on Nov. 20.

POCATELLO — Idaho State University has announced that it is holding the grand reopening of the Reed Gym swimming pool next week after eight months of renovation.

According to a news release from ISU, the grand reopening will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 5 p.m. at Reed Gym. University President Robert Wagner will be in attendance to give a few remarks.

The pool was originally opened in 1951. During that time, it has been a resource for both students on campus and the larger community. It was closed in 2021 for repairs. Renovations started in March after the Idaho Department of Public Works Deferred Maintenance fund provided the funding needed.

After the grand reopening, the pool will be open to the public in a limited capacity starting in early December. It will be fully open in January of 2025. The staff is currently being trained. Reed Gym is located at 1291 Martin Luther King Jr. Way on the ISU campus.
