A 34-year-old Montana man died Friday following a motorcycle crash on Interstate 15 near Pocatello, according to Idaho State Police.

Shawn Benjamin, of Fort Harrison, Montana, died at the scene of the single-vehicle crash that occurred around 7:13 p.m. Friday, authorities said.

Benjamin was traveling southbound on Interstate 15 on a 2007 Harley-Davidson when he lost control of the motorcycle and came to rest in the median, state police said.

Benjamin, who was not wearing a helmet, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.

One of the lanes of travel was blocked for approximately three hours as a result of the crash.

This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
