Walk With Christ is a spiritual journey through the life of Jesus Christ.

Each year around Easter time, members of the Pocatello Alameda Stake of the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints transform their meetinghouse into scenes depicting the life of the Savior — to commemorate and “Walk With Christ.”

The 2018 dates are March 27 to 30 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. A special session in which sign language guides will be available to interpret for any deaf guests who may wish to attend will be made available March 29 at 6:30 p.m.

The journey takes about an hour as visitors to the church building are escorted through rooms decorated to appear as they might have looked at the time Christ lived. Scenes from the life of Christ include the Nativity, Ministry, Last Supper, Garden of Gethsemane, Judgment by Pilot, Crucifixion, Empty Tomb and Resurrection. These scenes are portrayed through costumed actors, recordings, videos and pictures.

When the stake first began the event 10 years ago, a few hundred people came to view it.

Since then, thousands of people in the area and surrounding communities have attended. Attendance in recent years has been 3,000 to 4,000 people, including many of other faiths. Many who have taken the journey return year after year to enjoy the experience. Those who attend as guests and those who prepare the event are spiritually uplifted and gain a greater understanding and appreciation for Christ.

The Walk With Christ is free to the public, and everyone is invited to attend. It is a wonderful way for individuals and families to celebrate Easter.
