ISU Recreation and Wellness will host “Rock Solid Ways to Boost Your Metabolism” on Wednesday night at 5:30 p.m. in the Little Wood River Room at the ISU Pond Student Union. This wellness session with Nurse Practitioner and Chief Medical Officer Randy Vawdrey will share expert insights on optimizing metabolic function through sustainable lifestyle changes. Idaho State University men’s basketball takes on Portland State this Thursday at 7 p.m. in Reed Gym, with a Saturday matchup against Sacramento State at 6 p.m. Tickets run $12-$17 and can be purchased online at isu.edu/tickets or at the Reed Gym ticket office which opens one hour before the games.

“Moana 2” plays this Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m in the Bengal Theater at the Pond Student Union, with a 4 p.m. matinee on Saturday also. The Idaho State Civic Symphony features “Heroic Aspirations” this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in the Jensen Grand Hall at the Stephens Performing Arts Center. With conductor Nell Flanders, the evening will also feature the ISU Concerto competition winner along with the performance of “Symphony #3, E♭ major, Op. 55 ‘Eroica’” by Ludwig van Beethoven. Oscar nominee “A Real Pain” plays this Sunday at 4 and 7 p.m. in the Bengal Theater. Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin star as mismatched cousins David and Benji who tour Poland to honour their grandmother. Their adventure becomes complicated as old tensions resurface while exploring their family history. TIME magazine writes, “What’s most wonderful about the movie is its radiant generosity. Looking ahead to next week, the ISU Wind Ensemble and Civic Band will perform February 26 at 7:30 p.m. in the Jensen Grand Hall at the Stephens Performing Arts Center, performing a variety of works they have been working on this year. General admission is $10, ISU faculty and staff tickets are $7, pre-college age and ISU students get in free with a valid school ID. And Oscar nominated “Sing Sing” will be shown on March 2, at 4 and 7 p.m. in the Bengal Theater. Garnering three nominations, including a Best Actor nod, the film tells the true story of Divine G, imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit, who finds purpose by acting in a theatre group alongside other incarcerated men, including a wary newcomer who challenges him to the core.
