BOISE — The Idaho Cattle Association (ICA) is now accepting donations for their Wildfire Relief Fund, benefitting beef cattle producers affected by fires in Idaho during 2025.

The fund was established in 2022 and has received annual contributions from Ag West Farm Credit, as well as through ICA fundraising and general donations. The fund consists solely of private donations, no public funds are received.

Applications are being accepted for relief funding if received by October 31, 2025. Qualifying entities or individuals include local associations or Idaho cattle producers, RFPAs, volunteer fire departments or organizations, individuals or others that provided assistance, resources or funds to fight 2025 wildfires that caused losses or threatened cattle producer's livestock, property or resources. Examples of incurred expense might include emergency feed, transport or pasturing, fencing loss, etc.

ICA President Spencer Black says "Idaho's beef industry contributes more than $2 billion each year to our state's economy. Our ranchers are not only a cornerstone of Idaho's history and culture- they are the ultimate stewards of the land. Through permitted grazing on public lands that cannot be cultivated, cattle producers put otherwise unused terrain to work, helping to maintain healthy soils, diverse vegetation, and thriving wildlife habitats. The result of this stewardship is one of the most nutritious and delicious proteins available: beef. Wildfires have left a lasting mark on our cattle producers and for some, the damage is so severe that recovery may not be possible without access to relief funding. The Idaho Cattle Association stands ready to support producers in every way we can, including ensuring that they have the resources to recover from fire damage."
