POCATELLO — The Senior Games in Pocatello provide participants, 50 years and older, opportunities for competition, camaraderie and fun. With high expectations and personal goals, seniors will come together July 12 to 20 and compete in venues throughout the area. The chance to get a medal takes commitment and participants prove no one is ever too old to go for gold.
The Senior Games has something to offer for every interest and fitness level. Less physical games include billiards, bowling, croquet, chess, horseshoes, miniature golf, shuffleboard, darts, disc golf and Wii bowling. There are a variety of card games: bridge, Hand and Foot, Mahjong and pinochle. Higher level of fitness includes pickleball, basketball shoot, track and field, tennis, table tennis, archery, bocce ball, softball, swimming, racquetball, trap shooting, cycling and the Fun Walk/Run. Golf offers nine or 18 holes. Then there are dance competitions — couples and line dancing of all sorts!
Portneuf Medical Center has been a supporter since the Games started in 2003 and in 2014 they became the Naming Sponsor.
