POCATELLO — The Portneuf Pioneers chapter of the Sons of Utah Pioneers will hold a program May 22 at 135 S. 7th Ave. Pocatello in Pocatello. The potluck dinner begins 6 p.m., with the program beginning 7 p.m.
Val Parrish will present this month’s meeting. Parrish serves as the national president of the National Society of the Sons of Utah Pioneers. He served as president of the Salt Lake Pioneer chapter for five years.
Each year, as chapter president, he organized and conducted the Sunrise Service for the Days of ’47 Celebration in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square.
Parrish grew up in Clearfield, Utah and lives in Taylorsville, Utah. He married and was sealed to Allison Phillips in February 1982 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of three children and have 6 grandchildren.
