William Shakespeare’s delightful comedy, “Twelfth Night” will be presented by Old Town Actors Studio July 8, 9, 11, 14, 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. at 427 N Main St.

Set in 2002 in the Greek isles, the plot revolves around Orsino who is pining away for the love of Lady Olivia. He cannot have her because she is in mourning for her dead brother and refuses to entertain any proposals of marriage.

Meanwhile, off the coast, a storm has caused a terrible shipwreck. Viola is swept onto the shore. Finding herself alone in a strange land, she assumes that her twin brother, Sebastian, has drowned in the wreck, and she must survive on her own. A friendly sea captain tells her about Orsino’s courtship of Olivia. Viola decides to disguise herself as a man, taking on the name of Cesario and goes to work in Orsino’s household. While courting Olivia for Orsino, she finds herself falling in love with the duke. (A difficult love to pursue, as Orsino believes her to be a man.) She also finds Olivia falling in love with her. The ultimate love triangle: Viola loves Orsino, Orsino loves Olivia, and Olivia loves Cesario — and everyone is miserable.

To add to the chaos, we meet the other members of Olivia’s household: Her rowdy drunkard of an uncle, Sir Toby; His foolish friend, Sir Andrew Aguecheek, who is trying in his hopeless way to court Olivia; Olivia’s witty and pretty waiting-gentlewoman, Maria; Fabian, the clever clown; and Malvolio, the dour, prudish steward of Olivia’s household. When Sir Toby and the others take offense at Malvolio’s constant efforts to spoil their fun, Maria engineers a practical joke to make Malvolio think that Olivia is in love with him.

To top it all off, Sebastian, who is alive and has arrived on the Greek isle along with his friend and protector, Antonio. However, he believes his sister, Viola, to be dead. Naturally, Sebastian, who looks just like the disguised Viola, appears on the scene just in time to make matters worst. Eventually, all works out well, leaving many happy couples celebrating love.

Dana Facer directs Bart Nawotniak as Orsino, Tesla Nelson as Valentine, Sadie Facer as Viola , Rowan Smith as Antonio, Ted Bonman as Sir Toby Belch, Camile Thomsen as Maria, Jacob High as Sir Andrew, Bailey Brocket as Olivia, Brandt Hurley as the clown, Price Worrell as Malvolio, and Christian Williams as Sebastian. With Anna Reed-Spencer acting as the stage manager.
