EAST IDAHO — Nearly 300 eighth-grade students from Eastern Idaho will be in attendance for the 2022 STEMx Conference. It will take place Wednesday at the ISU Pond Student Union Ballroom. This is an opportunity for students to visit the Idaho State University campus and learn all about science, technology, engineering and math careers.

The event will start at 9:40 a.m. With a greeting from keynote speaker Becca Avery with POWER Engineers. Students will then break out into various career exploration opportunities across campus. Finally, students will return to the ballroom for lunch and a raffle.

In the past few weeks, the ISU College of Technology personnel provided hands-on STEM activities to nearly 1,000 eighth-grade students in our region. Those students were able to apply to attend the STEMx Conference, and 288 of those students have been selected to join the activities on campus.

The event is sponsored by L&L Mechanical, Lookout Credit Union, POWER Engineers, Idaho National Laboratory and the Idaho STEM Action Center.
