POCATELLO — Poets of all ages and experience levels are invited to help celebrate a beloved Marshall Public Library tradition. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Poetry Wall, and the library is calling on the community to share poems, reflections and creative voices throughout the month of April, in honor of National Poetry Month.

Established in 2001 by librarian and poet Joan Juskie, the Poetry Wall began as a simple invitation for staff and patrons to share poetry. For 25 years, it has consistently been a vibrant display that reflects the creativity, stories and perspectives of the Pocatello community.

To commemorate this milestone anniversary, the Poetry Wall will feature a special spotlight highlighting its history and honoring its creator. Community members are encouraged to submit original poems to be displayed on the wall throughout April and become part of this long-standing library tradition.

“Whether it’s a few lines scribbled in a notebook or a poem polished over time, the Poetry Wall has always been about sharing your voice,” said Rebecca Brainard. “If you’ve ever thought about writing a poem, this is your sign.”

Poems from writers of all ages and skill levels are welcome. All submitted poems will become part of the Marshall Public Library’s collection.
