Toss out your bathroom scales because at One Beat Wellness Studio, fitness is not about the number on the scale but rather focusing on self-care, confidence and connection.
The team at One Beat Wellness wants people to enjoy themselves and take care of the body they are in, knowing they are accepted and celebrated every step of the way.
Located at 30 W. Bridge St. in Blackfoot, One Beat Wellness Studio strives “to co-create an inclusive environment for joy-filled movement that nurtures true well-being, body, mind and heart.”
The overall vibe of One Beat has been designed to be the sort of place where people know you by name. The environment is warm, welcoming and transformational — a space where you can come as you are and leave feeling better, lighter and more connected. The intention is to emphasize through the environment that One Beat is a studio, not a gym.
A gym can only do so much heavy lifting (pun intended), but a studio can offer more, creating community and providing support, rather than just leaving it up to guests to figure out their workouts.
When asked what made her want to create a business like this, owner Keshia Polatis said, “Many of the original reasons for creating One Beat Wellness Studio were rooted in mental health. Movement — and the relationships we form through it — are two of the most powerful ways to improve our emotional well-being. Our team of instructors all share that belief, and we came together with that shared vision to create One Beat Wellness Studio in October 2023. We fell in love with group fitness because it made exercise fun again — moving to great music, surrounded by people who lift you up.”
One Beat’s success comes from its incredible team who share the vision of creating a community where people love movement and cultivate well-being — personally and collectively.
It has 10 trained and certified instructors offering nearly 30 classes each week. Ongoing education, mentorship and personal growth are all a big part of the One Beat professional culture, and with so many classes to choose from, there is sure to be a class time that fits into everyone’s schedule.

One Beat celebrated its two-year anniversary last month. It has been steadily growing since it opened. Some of the fitness highlights include cycling, virtual and on-demand classes, sound baths, breathwork, ecstatic dance, youth ballroom lessons and dance programs for kids in partnership with The Rec Dance Arts and Heidi Palmer. It has most recently added an infrared sauna.
“We are always evolving based on what the community needs and what keeps wellness exciting and accessible,” Polatis said.
In the future, it plans to add aerial yoga classes.
Often people express a desire to try a class because it looks fun, but they feel nervous. Maybe they don’t know anyone or worry they will be out of place. The One Beat team completely understands how much courage it can take to try something new. The classes are 100 percent guided by instructors who coach you every step of the way. It offers options for all levels. Everyone is welcoming and kind. The team hears many people say that walking through the doors was one of the best decisions they ever made.
What One Beat wants people to know most is that they don’t have to “get into shape” to go there. This is where you come to feel good, find balance and connect. Good health will follow. Classes include yoga, Pilates, barre, strength training, step, cardio and Zumba.
A new addition to One Beat Wellness Studio is its infrared sauna.
“We’re excited for members to add the sauna experience to their wellness routine,” Polatis said. “Infrared heat supports muscle recovery and helps reduce soreness after workouts. It also promotes detoxification through healthy sweating, supports cardiovascular health and improves skin health by opening the pores.”
She added, “Especially during colder months, it’s an incredible mental health boost — the warmth soothes the nervous system and helps release tension. Our sauna fits two people, so you can book a session with a friend for just a $10 add-on and get the added benefit of connection time.”
You do not have to be a member to enjoy the sauna or to attend a class.
For those wanting to “try before you buy,” One Beat offers a new member promo so you can try a few classes and see what feels like the right fit before committing. One Beat offers a variety of options to fit different needs and budgets. Whether you want to attend just one time per week or six times per week, there are options for both. You can purchase a punch pass for yourself or as a gift for someone else, or you can commit to a more regular routine with a variety of membership choices ranging from $28 to $60 per month. One Beat has also partnered with insurance and Medicare fitness benefit programs like Silver&Fit and Active&Fit Direct, which can make memberships low-cost or even free to qualified participants.
Most of the members at One Beat are women who are learning to prioritize their own well-being and confidence, but truly, everyone can benefit from what is offered. The community includes young moms who love the morning classes with child care and women in their 60s and 70s who inspire everyone daily to keep moving through every stage of life. For those looking for a gentler option, chair barre is offered on Tuesdays at 10 a.m. and chair yoga is offered on Thursdays at noon.
Many members have shared with the One Beat team how classes have helped them through difficult seasons of life.
“One member began coming after her mother passed away and said it helped her process her grief,” Polatis said. “And several moms of young children have said it has been a complete game changer for this season of life raising children ... a place where they can come for physical, social and emotional support.”
She added, “Many people also tell us they’ve never been able to stick with exercise before, but now they actually look forward to it. That’s what we love most — seeing people reconnect with movement as something joyful, not something they have to do.”
